Day one, 9pm. Chick won't stop peeping when I leave.

Yeah, chickens peep. Sounds like they’re well on their way to getting you trained. I’d move the brooder out to the coop or at the dry least a room where you can shut the door so you can’t hear them. They’ll adjust.

They're quieted down aloooot more, not peeping for me anymore. Can't wait until they get big enough to go to their house.

If you are able to safely provide heat for them out there, they can go now. I live in MN where it’s still quite chilly (20’s at night, 40’s during the day) in the spring and brood mine out in the coop from day 1.

Or a reptile bulb....aka ceramic heat emitter, can be put into your existing clamp light fixture. When you use this or any of the other suggested non lighted heat sources, they sleep all night.

My daughter had this happen. One would even escape the brooder and hunt her down. At three years old they still follow her around outside. They are great pets.

My BCM month old cockerel is horrible, he cries if he knows you're there and if you leave the room,or turn off the light,or don't pay attention to him. I just let him get it out of his system, then i go play with him.
