Oh good!!! I was feeling pullet vibes until I really noticed those pointy neck feathers and then was confused! So that makes me sooo happy. Thanks for the quick response

    Isbar and wyandotte…cockerel or pullet?!

Hello! I have two young beautiful birds that aren’t my normal breeds and I’m not confident in sexing them. 1) Isbar - 10 weeks old 2) Blue laced wyandotte - 13 weeks old Thanks in advance!

    OE Pullet or Cockerel

Thanks for the quick reply! Still hopeful it’s a pullet, thanks for the input :)

    OE Pullet or Cockerel

5 week old olive egger chick. I’ve thought pullet, until now as I noticed the comb getting a bit pink. Any best guesses? The feathering is so unique for an OE I was praying for a pullet. Black one in the last photo is from same hatch/same dad and clearly a cockerel (bright pink comb and large).

7 week old chicks, pullet or cockerel

You were correct, unfortunately for me! Only #2 turned out to be a pullet.

Mystery Roo - What do we think he could be?!

I meant to add, he’s a full sized rooster, not a bantam. Same size as my barred rock and wyandottes

Mystery Roo - What do we think he could be?!

Hi all! I’ve got this beautiful approx 8 month old rooster. He’s frizzled, but I can not for the life of me decide what mixed breed he is. He was a rescue from the soup pot. Any best guesses? Or even a best guess to what egg colour he will throw to his babies? Thanks much

    Coccidosis or Intestinal shedding?

Does this chicken poop look like intestinal shedding or should I be treating my flock with Corid for coccidosis? Everyone seems to be acting normally, energetic and following their regular routine. There is one bird that I notice a but puffier than normal, but our weather just changed and it’s...

    Sick teenage chickens

UPDATE: I’m now leaning towards Coccidosis. Noticed some red jelly in her poops. My vet never called me back so I did “home remedies” for vit e def and coccidosis. Gave both apple cider vinegar and vit e last night and she has totally perked back up this morning.

    Sick teenage chickens

Thank you so much for your response. The more I look at the symptoms, the more I lean towards Botulism because of the limberneck and progression. I will be inspecting every inch of the coop tomorrow and giving all feeders and waterers a thorough cleaning

20 week pullet suddenly can't lift head? What could it be?

https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/sick-teenage-chickens.1553750/ I have, no responses yet. My vet never returned my call today and I would say the chicken is getting worse by the hour 😭

    Sick teenage chickens

Last week I went out to the coop to find my favourite 16 week old chicken down in the coop. She wasn’t able to lift her head, she was limp but breaking normally. The rest of the flock looked fine, and she herself was normal the day before. Tried her on vitamins, in the house for warmth. She...

20 week pullet suddenly can't lift head? What could it be?

I have a chicken doing this same thing. May I ask what ended up being wrong with the hen? Thank you in advance, I’m so worried!

    Pullet or Cockerel

6.5 week old birds (ameri, black copper Maran, Easter egger). I’m worried I may have a bunch of cockerels 🤦🏼‍♀️ 1 and 5 are for sure cockerels in my opinion. Praying they’re not all boys though. The pink combs have me worried.
