I know Easter has passed but I forgot to share this image. It was our son's first Easter. Our chicks are four weeks old and we are building our first flock.
Also, in retrospect. We have heard that a spot on the top of the head as a one or two-day-old chick could indicate a Roo. Which this one did have. You can't see it here. However this is its two day old picture
Wow! Ok, thank you. So you really have to wait to see if an egg is laid. LoL.
He/She also fights with the other Roo. Should it back down or run if it was a girl.
Our white Leghorn is four weeks old today. If it has a comb this size does that mean it's an automatic roo? My sister has one at the exact same age and it's not nearly this big. Thank you for any feedback.
I think I found the post you were talking about... As much as it was informative it was confusing. So many people went back and forth with what theirs looked like and what it actually ended up being. Thank you for the input and I hope your chick is what you desire as well. Thanks!
All my other chicks were different breeds. I'll try to get some better pics.
The spot on top of the head is pretty focused. The legs and feet do have black splotches. Idk, hope it says a pullet cause I love the look of Barred Rocks.
I am new here and excited to raise chickens.
Picked up this Barred Rock up today. Let me know your best guess. I can get better pics tomorrow if needed.
Thank you!
Thank you! What a warm welcome. So, I already have a question. I wanted some of you experts to give me your best opinion on the sex of one of my pullets. Which category should I post that in? I want to start out on a good note. ; ))
Hey BYCer's, My wife and I have decided to start our flock. We have been studying for weeks. All of your threads and posts have helped us tremendously. This morning we picked up our chicks and we are as ready as we will ever be... I think. LOL As they sit in the brooder we are already attached...
