    I am going to try it in my chicken water that I have made with drinking nipples. As stated earlier in the post someone else has tried it with no problems. I will post if there are any problems. I cant remember if anyone said how early one can start using it with chicks.

    Great info. I think I may try the wider box and them put a divider in if i have problems. I have also heard the make them dark before, so I think I will try that.

    Great milk carton idea. I am going to try and re-purpose some upper kitchen cabinets and use the door opening on the back side to reach in and get the eggs.

    burying "apron" around coop, and hardware cloth question

    Love the rock idea. It also adds a finished look to the coop. I don’t think anything is getting under that. I think I will also add a game camera pointed towards the coop to see what may be trying to get in.

    Thanks for the advice. I was not planning to put that much on the ground and I am now thinking to using 18" to 24" on my run.

    Chicken Wire vs. Hardware Cloth

    My brother-n-law lost some chickens to predators that reached through the fence and was able to kill a few. So I am going with the smaller ½ hardware cloth. (I don’t want to lose any chickens or have to redo the job latter.)
