Wait until they pip - oh my goodness… attached are photos from an assisted hatch. Betty from her egg (2 days late pipping, so I went in) and how she is today. It’s absolutely attention and time consuming, but they are my world. Good luck!- TempletonPeck

English Orpington pulley or roo
I've got Orps - 8 weeks and 3 days old. Yours has the red comb and wattle of my buff here (photo attached, next to my black Orpington - same age - for comparison). Hi - yes, I’ve seen that and REALLY wish I’d seen it when they were small enough to hold in one hand and manipulate - but they are getting big now. I might try it after a few drinks one night! It is a really good video; thanks for the reminder x- TempletonPeck

She/he is fascinating - wattles and a comb sprouted enthusiastically at 4 weeks but then just stopped. I’m starting to think pullet, too. Have you got any pics of your boy at 7 weeks?- TempletonPeck

When can I start feeding mealworms(dried) to chicks?
I spent a small fortune on dried mealworms for my 7 week olds, knowing that the garden birds loved them so much. They won’t eat them! They come running to me, all earnest and interested, have one peck, and then retreat in disappointment. If they were human, they would be shaking their heads, sadly.- TempletonPeck
