Ok, I have 12 alive and well and 7 still in the incubator. I went to lock down with 24 so I am at 50% on shipped eggs. I am happy with that. If any of the 7 left make it I will be even happier.
I did an initial cleaning with a sink full of water and a little bleach. I let it dry and then washed with dish washing soap. I then rinsed with water and vinegar. The incubator sat open for a couple weeks before I got my eggs. I now have 8 hatched and living with 4 more zipping. Things are...
The chicks were all fully developed; nothing on the outside. They were moving around good and looked healthy. There was no indication there was a problem. This is only my second hatch, but the first one went very well. I don't know whats going on.
Eight chicks have hatched so far. Four have died within 3 or 4 hours of hatching. So sad; I don't know whats going on. Temp and humidity in incubator steady. Any ideas?
Don't feel bad MommaB. I am on day 20 and I have nothing going on either. 24 made it to lockdown and tomorrow is the day. These are shipped eggs so I don't expect that all will hatch. I would be happy if I get 12.
I started with 36 shipped eggs. After the last candle, I am planning to lock down 24 on Sunday. I saw definite movement in 23. One was so dark I couldnt see movement but it is in late development. Good luck to everyone.

My Brinsea is practically new. I have the model you do. I have found this reaches temp very quickly and holds temp well. I have had no problem with the cords knocking the unit off the table, but I have to admit that the previous posters observation is spot on. That is the only thing I would...
How deep should I go with my wire around the bottom of my coop? A little background - I built a 12' by 24' shed. The center 12 x 12 is a storage building it is decked and fully enclosed. Each 6x12 end is roofed, almost fully enclosed, save a 3/4 wall with wire two foot to the roof for...
I would like to join as well. I set 24 shipped heritage barred rocks on 6-29 and another 12 on 6-30. I ordered two dozen and received 36 - YEAH! I put the two dozen in my Brinsea 20 and didn't have anything to put the extra dozen in. I just couldn't let the other dozen go to waste so I ran...
