How deep should I go with my wire around the bottom of my coop? A little background - I built a 12' by 24' shed. The center 12 x 12 is a storage building it is decked and fully enclosed. Each 6x12 end is roofed, almost fully enclosed, save a 3/4 wall with wire two foot to the roof for ventilation. The entire building is almost at ground level (built on piers). I need to put wire around the bottom to keep the nasties out. I live in a suburban/country neighborhood outside the city limits. We rarely see a predator. How deep should i bury my wire to keep the occasional predator out. I was guessing 8 to 10 inches would do. What say the experts.
