Drom, I think you're right on target about finding what hatching method works best for you in your part of the world.
We've tried every different combination known to man! High humidity, low humidity, varied humidity to achieve optimal egg weight loss, etc, etc, etc.........

Harleena, mosts of the Marans I've raised started laying at 6 to 7 months. Maybe her first laying period hit as winter started??????? Some hens don't lay well in winter.
If you even have winter in California????

Do the wheatens have pink and or grey legs from hatch? It would be great if you could sex them this way!

I have a question on Wheaten leg color. In my flock, all the adult Roos have pink legs while the hens all have light grey legs. Is this typical? I'm into 3rd generation from Wade Jeane birds, and so far it has not varied. Why does the pink only show up in the roos????

Halo, here is a photo of the cinnamon triangle on an adult Wheaten roo. A BC wing would be black. I've noticed my Wheaten roos all have pink legs rather than the slate usually seen on Bcs.

We did a 10 x 20 pond in our flower garden last spring and stocked it with gold fish. I had a Koi, but it jumped out! I really like the gold fish! We got "feeders" for 8 cents each and some are now 6 " long. The pond liner, filter, pump and plumbing all came in a kit we bought on ebay.
