thanks, I'll do that haha, however day 7 candling showed that the eggs can't be fertile... I don't understand how the rooster has been mating the silkie every single day... perhaps he's firing blanks? it sucks either way, although I might leave it until day 10 just to be certain that they're not...
thanks tec :3
yeah the airspace is visable haha, so the plan is to get that a bit bigger by day 18? one thing said to lost 13% of weight or something? lol, ok so i got teh humidity at 45% stable so i'll try and keep it there and see how things progress :P thanks again ^^
ah I can't have been looking at the right articles in the learning section haha, the ones i read didn't say anything about what the humidity should be in the first few days, I'll go take a deeper, in depth looks ((my own fault for skimming the ones that looked any good haha))
ah ok, thanks, I...
alright so I recently put together a home-made incubator because our Silkie finally started laying again (she wasn't laying when we recieved her) anyway our cockerel has been mating her constnatly so my sister wanted to incubate the eggs because they're the first ones we have had hah, I have a...
made my Home-made incubator cos my sister wanted to put some of our chickens first ever layed eggs in there (silkie eggs, defo fertile, cockerel can't leave her alone haha) most of yesterday and all of today its been at a steady 37C, but just now ((recently put an old computer fan in there to...
also, I really appreciate you taking the time to explain to me how i could get them :D I'm new to the whole chicken thing and most of ours are my sister but i love them and I wanted to breed them but i love the silkies and not the pekins haha, so thanks it means a lot that someones prepared to...
I guess, and I couldn't do the unrelated thing as we don't have that much room, our backyard is pretty big, but with the 7 pekins and 1 silkie in there it looks tiny XD, our coop isn't really big enough for many more either, its a large coop but from what people on here are saying its rather...
doesn't breeding them to each other lead to offspring that isn't as strong as normal ones?, either way, thanks for clearing that up for me guys, it sucks that i'll have to wait a lot longer to get the silkie looking ones that I want, but I guess I have no choice haha
from our Lavender pekin bantum cockerel, and our white Silkie hen, would the chicks be like a 50/50 of lavender and whites? and would it also be like 50/50 on what kind of feathers they had? EG silkie feathers or pekin feathers
please and thanks cos i'm rather interested in what kinds of chicks...
also linking things like good accessories to have ready for the hatching and stuff and what sort of food they would/should be eating from hatching, is there a special type of food I'd have to get for them?
yeah, we've recently had a few pekins and a silkie.. we had 2 silkies but one passed the other day at a terribly young age..
ANYWAY lets not talk about that haha
but I was thinking of buying a Silkie egg and possibly some other eggs, because I really want a baby silkie to raise but i'm then...
