Maybe not... some of our other hens (not the EE's though) started laying around Christmas. This was just the first egg from this particular hen.

I'm not really sure.... we have 2 Australorps, 2 Barred Rocks, 2 Red Stars, and 2 Easter Eggers. As far as I know everyone but the Easter Eggers should lay brown eggs... though I guess the EE's could potentially lay brown as well. I'm guessing the EE's are laying the "green" eggs and...

I took these with my Nikon D60 using a NIKKOR 35mm lens. F-stop was f/2.5 and the speed was 1/4000sec. No flash because I took the pics outside in the sun
One of our Easter Eggers (either Edith or Edna) laid this beautiful egg today! It's a very pretty light bluish green color. It looks a little more blue in the pic than it actually is. Today was also the first time we got 5 eggs in one day! (we have 8 almost 6 month old hens) I LOVE my girls!
We ended up rhino lining about half way up form the bottom and then painted the rest with a black gloss exterior paint to even things out. Here are a few pictures...
It's just a thin coat and it went on pretty easily. I must say I'm happy with the way it turned out and how it sort of...

We bought a paint on do-it-yourself liner and went ahead and put it on just now (it had to be done today or not at all ) So far it's stuck to the wood just fine and I think it will be a good solution to sort of seal things up and to make for easier cleaning down the road.... at least I...
I will be lining the inside of the coop which is all pressure treated wood and is raised about 2ft off the ground. And you're correct, it's so I can periodically spray the whole thing down.. we were going to put a drain plug in (like in a boat) for when I do the cleaning.
I'm thinking of Rhino Lining the inside of my coop and wanted to know if there would be any negatives to that. The fumes will be all aired out (not putting up sides until a couple days after lining) before the chickens go in. I plan to put the bedding on top of the lined interior.. just...
Our first chicks arrived today from MPC and they all seem to be doing great! We got 2 Australorps, 2 Barred Plymouth Rocks, 2 Easter Eggers, and 2 Red Stars (sex-links). They're all "supposed to be" hens, but of course only time will tell. The only guarantees right now are the Red Stars...
