Yes it is very possible, even if the hens were not broody Hens love to nest in hidden areas so, many hens could of tried to lay in that nest and then the embryo could have developed.
Today one of my favorite hens was not doing to well so I picked her up and examined her I noticed that her crop was very big and full of liquid it also seemed like she was trying to regurgitate on her own. I trusted her instincts and I held her face down and she was like a hose!!! So much...
This depends how serious you are about raising chickens and how many you have what my family and I did was we bought a small shed and the chickens sleep in there at night nothing can get in we even wired the windows.
This is just something I can laugh about, one of my hens Sonia just hatched three chicks but they won’t grow! They are healthy they eat and do everything a normal chick would do does any one else have any experience with chicks not growing? They are now almost one month old.
One of my polish chickens used to try and crow when she was younger but she stopped after she went broody and hatched a very beautiful baby chick.
Polly is the one with the fluffy head and that is her “son“ carmine.
Ok, thank you so much have you ever heard of a chicken being afraid of heights? She seems healthy. When she tries to get down she just does not seem comfortable she looks down at the perches below her and kind of gets ready to jump then doesn’t.
Good morning everyone once again my 3 year old hen won’t come down the perch by herself she eats, sleeps, drinks, lays eggs, poos, and everything a normal chicken does besides come down in the morning:(.
