    Roosters and Egg Production

    I had a RIR rooster in my flock. He got really nasty so he went bye bye. My egg production dropped off significantly . Someone just gave us a cute little batnti rooster. Guess what , egg production has gone back up. Maybe they just like having a guy around, as little as he is!

    Not sure what's going on on with my hens.

    i have had several different flocks over the years. Right now I have 16 RIRs. They are a year old. Their egg production has dropped in half over the last few weeks. The eggs are smaller. And they aren't the dark brown they used to be. What's wrong?

    Hatchery. 16 hens and one lowly rooster. He was suppose to be a hen!

    We have had chickens on and off for many years. We have recently starting a new flock of Rhode Island Reds and are now getting their wonderful eggs.
