    Cross beak week old turkey

Nubby, our week old turkey, is developing a crossed beak pretty quickly. I have read the other threads about cross beak and found that you can use a Dremel tool to help with it. My question is would I Dremel the top, the bottom, or both so that they line up a little better. This is Nubby...

    silkie breeder sacramento/pleasanton/chico area

Last year I got 3 silkies from Northern Star Mills and they were all boys as well. Maybe there is some unwritten law that says you can't have silkie hens in Chico

    Bourbon red hatch

I have a farm innovators 4200. So far It's been holding a steady temp and humidity. Although the lowest humidity I am able to achieve is ~50%. That is with one small reservoir filled. The humidity here has been crazy low at ~5-10% so i had to put some water in. I think all is going well so far...

    Bourbon red hatch

Is it normal to have the humidity as high as it is in the chart? This is my first time hatching anything so I'm totally freaked out that I'm going to mess them up.

Broody Hen - 2 story coop - will chicks be safe?

I would move her first. Then see if she accepts chicks. Or you could try confining them upstairs with food and water. I wouldn't count on the chicks knowing enough not to fall off the ledge especially when they get a little bigger and chase each other around.

Beautiful coop! Definitely worthy of the front yard. I hope my front yard coop turns out as awesome as yours.

What's the weather like where you are!

Wow that ice storm looks like it's going to take a while to clean up. And here I was going to complain that it's sunny but a little too windy go out and work on the new coop. I guess it's pretty nice in California.

    What breed is my hen?

I thought it said eggs instead of legs so here are pictures of the legs and eggs. The guy at the feed store said it was a Welsummer but I was looking at pictures and she didn't really look like one. The same guy told me 2 years later that some black silkies were buff orpingtons. I just...

    What breed is my hen?

This is Boomer. I got her at the feed store about 3 yrs ago. I am not positive but I think she lays dark brown eggs. She is camera shy so this is the best picture I could get of her. Thanks
