If they're inclosed then they should be fine. I have a huge enclosure with a big hutch and they hate being locked up at night. But I guess it just depends on the duck.
I definitely agree that they look like black runners. I have a blue runner from tractor supply that was said to be a khaki. And one actual male khaki. They make beautiful babies and yours definitely look like there babies. So possibly a cross breed?
