They look to be all Roos. The rule of thumb with barred rocks is that if its lighter or if the space of white between bars is wide then it's a Roo. If their dark and barring is closer together then hens. Bad luck there if I'm right.
All roosters are different and in any breed you can get a abnormal aggressive roo. So far my best rooster breed has been Orpingtons and the worst being Legbar. I've seen that Americanas can be pretty aggressive. I volunteered to clean a rooster's cage at a fair because it was dirty and owner...
Hi. I have a really bad eye thing going on. If anyone could tell me what it is? There was this white tofu like mass that I pulled out. Here's what it looks like now:
did I accidentally pull out the eye?!? If not can it be saved and is it going to spread through the flock?
The size difference with silkies will be a problem! But if you still want silkies (we have a few) get a separate coop; it doesn't have to be big for bantam!
I'm have the best of both worlds! I have a mixed layer flock but one breed flock of orpingtons! Its not true about one breed having all the same personally. But if you want eggs go mixed! Breeding go for a single breed flock.
