    Keep hatching out all roos

The eggs are off my own birds. My hatching last year was 6 roos and 1 hen, my current rooster is one of those roosters that hatched out. I hatched some out almost 5 weeks ago and they all had the distinct white spot, white legs, 2 different length wing feathers, and currently are developing...

    Keep hatching out all roos

I'm on my 3rd incubation in my nurture right 360, my 1st hatching turned out 6 roos & 1 hen, my 2nd hatching turned out all 12 nothing but roos, and my 3rd batch is hatching now and so far I have 14 that appear to be all roos(I'm hatching barred rocks so fairly easy to tell). I have it set to...

    1st try at incubating

My flock is about a year and a half old now, my kids have been hounding me to hatch some chicks, so I decided to try and hatch some chicks to add to my flock. I went with a nurture right 360 incubator after considerable reading. The incubation went OK, but the humidity ran pretty high in it. I'm...

New guy in central Florida, trying to see if I have 7 or 8 pullets.

Just wanted to give an update. My 7 girls are now laying 5-7 eggs a day. My cockerel is now about 7 months old and IMO has turned out to be a very pretty boy. He has so many layers and depth to his coloration ranging from the white and black hackles to his blue/green tail feathers and is on...

New guy in central Florida, trying to see if I have 7 or 8 pullets.

And it's official, he went from nothing but a few squeeks and squawks to full on crowing this morning. There coop is outside my 7 year olds window and it startled him awake at 6 am when he let out his 1st crows. He had never heard a rooster crow before, and out of the blue he crows like he has...

New guy in central Florida, trying to see if I have 7 or 8 pullets.

He's now roughly 4 months and I'm gonna say he is a cockerel. He is still pretty dark in color, but has a good size comb & wattles, spurs have started developing, legs are considerably larger than the hens that are 2 weeks older than him, much longer tail feathers that stand up compared to the...

As he's getting older, he does appear to be getting slightly lighter in color, so I'm still hopeful that he is indeed a cockerel. I just got done today finishing a 4'x16' chicken run that I built to attach to the end of there existing coop, so even the birds get a Christmas present this year.

New guy in central Florida, trying to see if I have 7 or 8 pullets.

I thought it was a cockerel, but I wasn't sure after reading about them being sex linked, and his coloration being so similar to the pullets. He definately has the attitude of a rooster already as he comes out in front of the pullets whenever I open the door. He will be staying as he has already...

New guy in central Florida, trying to see if I have 7 or 8 pullets.

New here, haven't had chickens in many years, but my kids decided to do 4-H, so we picked up 5 Barred Rock pullets, what is supposed to be a BR cockerel, and when I was there they had 1 GLW that caught my eye as well as a SLW. My question is, is he actually a cockerel, or a pullet? It's roughly...
