    Breeding/Laying problems

They have been on this feed all along.

    Breeding/Laying problems

No signs of anything like that-no scratching or irritation. They act completely normal except for the breeding activity and bare backs.

    Breeding/Laying problems

A few months ago, my hens went into molt and are still there. Egg production has fallen by about 40% and low fertility. I see almost no signs of active breeding. Last year breeding activity was almost constant. I feed 28% Gamebird crumbles. Any ideas?

    Feeding new hatched shamo

Have some Shamo chicks coming and would like to know what type of feed to give them. Have read that they need low protein feed, but not sure what percentage protein to feed. Anybody help me out here? How soon should the males be separated? Thanks.

    Poultry layer 16% for quail

Read on here a while back that 16% layer feed was damaging to the kidneys of males. Does anyone have any concrete info on this?

Do any of you know of a Breeder or Hatchery for the Light Sussex chicken?

My two Lt Sussex roosters were killed by a wily raccoon, so am out of the lt Sussex breeding business.

Quail on Deep Litter - Why it Works

What are the sides of your cages made of? Mine have 1" spacing covered with 1/2" plastic hardware cloth. They still manage to fling everything out all over the floor.

Quail on Deep Litter - Why it Works

Good luck with covering the bottom. I tried using newspaper and they still managed to fling everything out in a day or so and then the poop piled up on the paper. I am considering putting a full plywood box-5" deep- in the cages and then putting the deep litter in that. Will try one & see how it...

    all who are hatching quail

I have successfully used dry play sand and it was wonderful-very clean as the poop gets mixed in the sand so no mess
