I don't even notice it anymore. Every now and then they'll get really loud but when they do that, there's usually something in the yard or flying above. The chickens have learned the guinea calls. They'll hide when they hear the alarm call. That's why I'd rather keep guineas and my other birds...
I had my guineas for 2 months and was ready to sell them because of how loud they are. Then a hawk landed in my pasture and they kicked its *** lol I love them now
This guinea keet hatched in the incubator yesterday. It wasn't supposed to hatch until Friday. It's my first one. I was having the worst luck hatching guineas then I heard loud chirping from the incubator. I'm glad I was home because I would have been upset if it got stuck under the turner...
My guineas are free range with my chickens and ducks. One of them actually quit hanging out with the other guineas. It stays around a buff orpington hen and a Japanese bantam rooster. I feed mine the same pellets everyone else eats.
We make it a game. The day before hatch day, we write our guesses down and the person who gets it right chooses what's for supper for a week. It's funny how one can seem so close then be the last to hatch lol
I'm having the worst luck hatching guineas. They do fine until lock down. They'll internally pip then die. I had one hatch but it died 24 hours later. It had its guts coming out if it's navel.
This is my first attempt at hatching guineas. The first one came out last night and I thought it would be running around this morning but it's just laying around. It picks it's head up and chirps. It scoots around the hatcher but doesn't walk. I gave it some poultry drench about 3 hours ago...
All my chicken eggs hatched but the 3 Cayuga eggs all died before pipping. I don't know why but I have a hard time hatching ducks. Out of 30 cayuga eggs,I got one baby. Thank goodness I have two broody ducks.
There's one in the batch that just hatched that could be Japanese bantam /buff orpington. It's smaller than the others and doesn't have the stripes down its back but the others do.
