So I looked today in better light and it looks like a healing wound. It was hard to hold her and look, normally I have my husband hold her but he isn't home.

We had a chicken get egg bound awhile back she survived, but I think there was nerve damamge she doesn't walk well since. So she lays down a lot, my husband picked her up the other evening and there was what looked like dirt/poop stuck on her chest. So to check took her in gave her an epsom salt...

We had built this for our quail, and decided to use tractors. So wanted to build a small coop for her. It is right near our bedroom window so we could hear her and not far from the other chickens. We need to put a roof on tho, right now only chicken wire on top.

She freaks when she sees other chickens. Because they always attack her. We are even trying to raise babies with her she lost it.

Do any of you have more than one Male per pen? If so to keep everyone happy what ratio then? I am not worried about breeding so much just ended up with males and don't want fighting.

I don't think this one will recover been months, no more eggs. But yes I was wondering if her and the chicks will be ok together.
