My daughters caught these at the fair and got to bring them home! The colored one I’m positive is a rooster. Any hints on breed? He has feathered feet and I’m guessing an Easter egger. The other is obviously a zombie? But I’m not sure whether it’s a hen or roo.
I have this male that I am trying to identify breed. When he molts he does not have the stripes on his face like a Rouen or mallard. He also does not have blue on his wings. He is small in size compared to the Rouen that we do have.
Thanks for any help!
I like the legbars. Mine aren’t super friendly but definitely not mean. They also produce beautiful large eggs. We did deal with some mild frostbite on their combs this winter. I’ve heard bielefelders are better for harsh winters which is why I got a couple. No preference yet since the...

Chances this is a cockerel? Hatched 5/22 and already has a red comb. None of the other chicks from the hatch have this color. First time hatching chicks and identifying sex!
I’m so proud of this young hen! I don’t have many people to share in my excitement so hopefully a few of you think this is cool.
Backstory: I had two hens go broody at the same time. We don’t have a rooster and they would not stop sitting in the nesting boxes. Someone in a local poultry...
We have a duck laying on a nest and the eggs are due to hatch any day. About a week ago I came out to check on our birds and noticed she moved her nest a couple feet away and there was an egg left on the ground. Is this normal? Is the egg rotten and she can tell? Seems like a lot of work to move...
I can’t even get them to go into their shelter! They are super skittish and run from us. Which is surprising since they were handled by my daughter a lot when we got them as ducklings. The only times we can get them to go inside is if we chase them which is just not reasonable to do everyday and...
