    Wide eyes. Lethargy

    I have two others like this. I will likely be getting them tested for avian flu. Any other reason for eyes like this and just standing. No eating or drinking. They just kinda stand there…. HELP! I’m so panicked it’s avian flu and I’m going to have to surrender my flock 😢

    Yeah I am glad. They won’t be free range but they’ll have a nice run. Honestly I do wonder if he is aggressive because of all the others. Perhaps a new dynamic would help his behavior.

    Thank-you I have a friend who said they will take a rooster with a few hens. So that is likely the end result of this as I hate for my girls to be all stressed and for the boys to injure themselves. I just hate that it had to happen. We had such an excellent dynamic until Bawk Bawk got hurt.

    Yeah. Bawk bawk is an old rooster and No Butt, Big Guy and That guy are his sons. Speckles is from a batch of straight run we bought(he had a brother who was taken) I don’t love Speckles but he adds new blood to the flock(and he’s a nice breed) He’s not really nice to the hens though...

    They’re free range. Just in the coop at night. So once outside today No butt and him were able to establish a place and seemed fine then Bawk Bawk attacked speckles when he was being aggressive with a hen and speckles and him went at it. Speckles is an aggressive rooster sometimes. Bawk bawk...

    So he has recovered. We did add him back and the other roosters fell in line quick but him and no butt started fighting a lot. So unfortunately we may have to choose who too keep if they can’t get along. I don’t know if every fight is too the death with roosters..
