I have a security light beside my run. I strung twine from my security light pole to my house in 3 different directions between the run and my house. That was the area where the hawks were swooping down and grabbing my guineas. I have not seen them since this was done 6 months ago. Hawks...

I need my Chicken Enclosure to be Fox Proof

We had 2 foxes and I killed both. They would show around 9-10 in the morning and I kept a watch and blasted them with my shotgun. We had a duck that stayed in the run at night but I let her out during the day and one of the foxes got her. But they were never able to get into the run because...

    Backyard Pole Light

I have a security light beside my run and it does not bother the chickens. Besides it is a good thing to have to ward off predators because they do not like to expose themselves. They prefer to do their raids in the dark.

    Huge Snake problems

I snake proofed my coup by covering the cage wire with wildlife netting. If snakes try to penetrate it they get caught in it and can't back out and I can kill them. I also poured a concrete apron around the coup to stop snakes from slithering under, and prevent varmint from digging in.
