Does anyone know why chickens in a coop would stamp their feet in the evening? When I go in after dark, there are flying insects that could be like mosquitos or gnats, but not sure what they are. I don't know if the insects are bothering a few of the chickens or is something else is disturbing...

I live in SC and Palmetto bugs are in abundance outdoors. I am trying to find information on the best way to raise them to feed to my chickens. I set traps to catch them, but the ladies like them so much that I would like to provide more. Any suggestions?
