All 104, they actually gave us an extra of each, arrived safely and happy on March 27. All are doing well and loving their new home. Thanks to Cackle Hatchery for another fine batch of chicks!

Two days after the previous post I went over to the farm with a bag of frozen nuggets and held them up for the chickens to see. I told them "eggs or nuggets, your choice". The next day they laid 18 and we've gotten between 28 and 32 everyday since. Might want to try that sometime...
I've tried planting stuff in chicken runs for years with no success. Just not enough space to keep them from scratching it all up. Best thing I've found to cut feed costs is ground up left-over biscuits from local restaurants!
