I need some help. I put a few quail eggs under a broody chicken and the first one hatched today. What I need help with is do I take it away from the hen and put it in the brooder or leave it in with the hen. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
I have 24 Texas a&m quail. They are six weeks old. I just finished there cage this afternoon and took a couple out of the brooder box a place into their new home to see how the like it. But they seemed hesitant to walk around on the wire floor. (1/2" hardware wire) so after about thirty minutes...
I had some old rabbit water bottles with nipples. The bottles got nasty and wasn't able to clean. The nipples screwed right on to two liter bottles and worked great. Just remember to put small vent hole in top of bottle or it will collapse on itself.
Yeah the cups are nice but like u I can't afford them. Just wanted to get them used to the nipples before they move to the breeding pens. Thanks for the advice I will wait a few weeks and let them get fullied feathered out and build some strength before making the swap.
