    4 week old chick unwell

She was walking around in circles and not mixing with the other chicks so knew there was something wrong. I did put all my chicks outside for a whole afternoon as it was warm but wondered whether that affected her. Perhaps I should not have put her out at 4 weeks old.

    Pecked chick

I had 1 chick hatch out today by my pair of silkies, they were all fine and chick was hidden under mum , later when we looked we find the hen and cockerel had been pecking all over one side of chicks head so took him out straight away, is it normal for mum and dad to behave in this way?

    When chick arrives

No I have not got any lamp or heat, I have him in a cardboard box with lots of bedding and keeping him under cupboard lights in kitchen, will keep lights on over night and have hot water bottle. Should I still get a lamp?

Day 21, my chick arrived, mum was looking after it and the cockerel took no notice and stayed away at other end of coop and by the afternoon we found the hen and cockerel had been pecking his head all over one side, so took chick out immediately and looking after him indoors, he is walking fine...

    When chick arrives

Day 19 and waiting to see if my 1 egg hatches, I am tempted to buy some fertilised polish eggs to put under my silkie hen after this one but would she sit on them for another 3 weeks?

    When chick arrives

Would the mum look after the sexed chicks though or will she reject them?
