    UPDATE: Mom and chicks are doing great. Two of the four eggs hatched. One looks like a.black Barred Rock female. The other I’m not sure. The rooster is a Salmon Faveroilles and both chicks have five toes and feathered feet. Thanks for all your insight.

    This is so different from raising my first chicks I bought from TSC and having to use the heat lamp. I have a way of over-thinking situations instead of going with the flow.

    Thanks everyone for such encouraging replies. Shirley seems to be doing quite well eating her crumbles. She seems to always be at the feeder but is going to roost with a full crop. Hopefully it continues.

    My RIR appears to have broke off her top beak at the lip. Her lower beak is intact and she tries to eat and drink. I feed my chickens pellets from two feeders.     Double yolk huge egg

    I have a 1 year old Blue Sapphire that regularly lays 2.5 ounce eggs or larger. When she first started some were double yolks but now just single yolks. She did lay a triple yolk once. HUGE!! I use that as my avatar.
