I have 10 chickens and one dog. I live in north east Georgia. I know for sure I've seen chipmunks. But I have rooster who goes after anything so I was surprised to see it in the run. That's a good point about snakes not digging holes. I can ask around about a game camera.
I noticed a few holes in my yard 2 weeks ago and thought maybe some kind of snake. I've now seen 2 holes in the chicken run. They were a pretty good size and deep. I haven't seen any snakes but I'm not sure what else it could be. What is the best thing to do? I filled the first one but not sure...
For the last 3 days I've only gotten 1-3 eggs a day. It was very odd for having 7 layers. Well today I moved some hay and found a nest of 8 eggs. One was still warm from this morning. 1 was broken and the rest were fine but a little wet from the broken one. I'm washing them now but wondering if...
Oh trust me, he got an earful.
They had some yucky poops the day after and eggs productions has slowed waaaaay down the past few days. Not sure if that is from them not feeling well or the heat or they are just hiding them from me Hopefully today is better.

She is acting so much better!! I've been watching her for 2 hours now. Not lethargic at all, pecking around with the others, eating and drinking! I'm still keeping rooster away so she can rest.
Woke up to a very happy chicken. She greeted me and immediately ate. When she got up, there was an egg! Woohoo!! Still watching her closely and making her drink, but I feel like she isn't on deaths door steps right now. I really though my she was a goner on Saturday.
I've been watching her closely. The first thing she did was take a little nap outside and just a minute ago she got up, ate some oats and drank some water by herself! First time in 2 days!
Soooo still is still alive. I'm
Not exactly sure how because last night I though she was a goner. I started doing the dropper the morning with water and decided to try one of her favorite snacks, oats. She ate them!! The only thing I've done differently is I gave her some essential oil last...
