My Hens and Roosters both have stopped laying since it turned cold, should I just eat them?

Twice now Ive had a chicken setting on eggs and be joined by another hen, even after hatching they seem to raise and protect the babies together.

:jumpy:jumpy I moved one hatched chic (2 hours) and 1 pipping chic to a brooding hen. Does a hen normally take it from there? How do the chics eat?
