I moved one hatched chic (2 hours) and 1 pipping chic to a brooding hen. Does a hen normally take it from there? How do the chics eat?

I do it all the time with my hens. I recently had5 broodies that managed to hatch 1 chick between them, I gave them 15 chicks from my incubator and they are doing great. Just make sure your hen has been sitting for about 3 weeks or she will not be psychologically ready for chicks. Good luck!

I've done it before. If she's been setting for a while, she should take it from here

with no problem at all:) The chicks don't have to eat for 48 hours after hatch, because

they get nutrients from the ubsorbed yolk. Feed them chick starter from the feed store,

and they'll eat just like adult chickens do:)
