    I thought about that, but I was concerned if I ran her off her nest to candle the eggs, if they were still viable, would she return to the nest to finish setting?

    I do have other ducks. I have mallards but they are in a separate enclosure than the Pekin...the Pekin (we call her Ms. Duck Duck) doesn't really like other fowl in her enclosure...she prefers to look at them through the wire.

    Other than not laying, she's doing well. Acting normal. "Talking" to me. She's in a pen (she has a bad leg...had it when we got her) but she let's me know when she wants something...usually fresh greens...and she gets them. She's a sweet little duck.

    We "adopted" a Pekin duck (hen) when we bought some chickens from an individual. They never mentioned how old she was. She was laying eggs. We have had her now for about a year and a half.     She is still with the babies. She is still laying eggs but not always in her nest. I find them all over their enclosed pen. But she and the babies seem to be happy and healthy. The drake is in the pen with them but he doesn't bother the babies. Thank you for your insight though on that, in case...

    The ones that she laid in the middle of her pen, I collected. My preacher likes them. I prefer our chicken eggs over the ducks eggs...They don't go to waste though.
