We bought some little yellow chicks from tractor supply they were a mix between leghorns and Rhode Island reds..

I have the same issue. I found two soft shell eggs this morning busted on ground under where they roost. We also have the pdz. I'm getting some oyster shell today....

I have 3 boxes... ^^

It's so hot right now I feel bad keeping them in the coop. Like upper 90s+. I can try I suppose. We don't give them oyster shell, I'll pick some up. Thanks!

Our chickens just started laying (like we've gotten 6 eggs in the past week from our flock of 8) but this morning I went to check on them and we had two eggs. Both were just about see thru they were so thin and they were both busted... Also a side question, our chickens are semi free range so...

We got our first eggs 3 days a go. Then we got one egg the next day, yesterday we got nothing... We have 8 hens. Once they start laying they don't keep laying?? When do they become consistent?

We have black copper marans and some feed and seed store mix little yellow chick chickens they said they were a mix between Rhode Island reds and leghorns I believe.

At what age are they ready for the coop? They are a little over 3 weeks old. I'm starting to worry that the box I have them in isn't big enough. They are getting BIG and fast!

So yesterday on if our 2 week old chicks had some stringy sticky orangish poop. I say sticky because it stuck to him and causes my other chicks to peck at it/him. Is this normal? I looked at a chicken poop chart and but it didn't exactly have what it looked like. Any help? Is the chick ok? Do I...

We are new to chickens and suddenly having a pink eye out break in our house. Coincidence? Quite possibly but I wanted to see if anyone else has noticed a connection between chickens and pink eye? 8/

Yea I keep checking it to make sure I don't have roasted chicks or a melted tote. I feel like I have a new born all over again

Just brought home some 1 week old chicks. I have the set up in a large storage tote with a wood chip floor, food in the feeder, water in the waterer, a little roosting stick, heat lamp. Did I get it all? Anything I'm over looking?
