Nope ☹️😭
I have even searched the vacant lot behind my property. Not so much as a feather anywhere to be found. If a critter took her, there's no evidence left behind.
We need rain and have none in the forecast. I went ahead and turned on the water line so I could give my thirsty plants a healthy drink.
Also went through the rabbit house trying to catch everyone so I could separate the girls from the boys. There were 13 babies in total from 2 litters. Seven...
I'm in the same boat... My peach, plum, and mulberry blossoms bit the dust. Even my cauliflower and broccoli starts took a hit. They are still alive but damaged so I'm guessing they will be stunted.
Stopped at the feed store tonight to pick up more 1x2 welded wire and they tried to convince me to buy more chicks... 😂
Evil people!
I somehow managed to say no... Although it was REALLY hard because they still had LB chicks.
One of my favorite hens has disappeared... 😭 I noticed yesterday morning that she wasn't in the chicken yard when I went to feed meaning she was not in the coop the night before. DH puts the ducks in at night and he never really pays much attention to the chickens or counts heads. So I don't...
Last Friday I hatched 8 chicks in the incubator. Today I bought 8 more chicks from the feed store. They had Blue Copper Marans, Light Brahma, and Rhode Island Reds. I got 4 BCM, 2 LB, and 2 RIR. DH has been threatening to have an intervention all night. 😂 Just when he thought our flock was...
Picked a bunch of weeds in the garden today for the rabbits.
I'm currently incubating eggs. Started with a dozen. Eight made it to lockdown. I thought they were going to be born tomorrow..maybe Saturday. I just removed the egg turner last night. 🙄 My first chick just exited the shell about 5...
I'm so sore that I can hardly move...
BUT...
I finally got my broccoli, cauliflower, and kale starts in the ground! :celebrate
It was a lot of work because I had to clear all the scrub out of the garden, put down about 4 inches of new compost, put up down black plastic as weed barrier...
Finally got a GOOD downpour this morning. Supposed to get another 2 - 4 inches early in the week.
Hopefully that kicks off some good growth. I did heavily prune my peach tree so I'm a little worried about canker. Tomorrow I'll probably smash up an aspirin and make a paste to put on the cut...
