What did you do in the garden today?

Update. I had surgery yesterday. Catheter for a week. Tumor removed. Treated for cancer with a in bladder chemo solution. Still will not say it is cancer until lab results. I will have cabin fever by the end of a week. Spring is here but hard to garden with a catheter bag.
Rest well and eat well. Hoping the lab results come back negative for cancer.

I have a feeling this is going to be a bad fire season. Maintain your defensible space. 💚

I'd decided to set rat traps under the chicken coop a few days ago. Not because I saw a rat, but because there's no reason not to set them. I've caught two in the last week. Where the heck do they come from?! Both male roof rats. Been catching opossums again in the live trap as well. Spring has sprung so I'm setting my springs! 🤣

It's been really hot. Got the pool up to 82 over the last week with the bubble cover. This is the first year that we've been in our pool in March. Felt like a summer day.

Started some more basil seeds.

It's supposed to cool down next week. Keeping a close eye on the forecast.

Paid $6.69/a gallon for diesel today. At the cheapest place in town. It's up over $8 at the Chevron.
We have stone firebreaks around the shop and house that are 6 feet wide, no vegetation, rooves are composit, siding is brick and concrete or steel. We're good for fast and low burns and I keep the grasses to 3 inches high for two acres around the house in the early spring. Tractor has the blade on. Irrigation will be charged in another week, the barn coop and pasture are fair game, but I can't protect it all.

The hay truck convoys going west are, thankfully, still going. I've done more educating on cattle and cattle/hay consumption/harvesting/curing this week than I ever have.

I was wondering how you were doing. Prayers for swift healing and not cancer.
Stinks that it's difficult to garden

More updates. Lab results in 2 weeks but doctor not in office for a month to discuss results. So 2 weeks of my chart and then 2 weeks of translating medical terminology. 2 weeks of worry. YouTube told me that the chemo inserted is pretzel shape and straightened to fit through the cope. Dissolves over a week. So I am peeing radiation. No wonder they wanted me to wear latex gloves when emptying the urine and not get any on my skin. I should hear this from medical personnel not YouTube.

Jerryse, hoping all the best for you, if you have any questions, I used to work as a nurse ! Yes, I am about 11$ out of pocket for a liter of gas 🙄 yes, cutting down trees can be very expensive! Just „trimming“ our oak cost over a thousand euros 🙄 the arborist had to rent a lift to reach the branches, and I had to have a pine tree cut down, cost about 1700€ 🙄 because they also charge you not just for sawing but getting rid of all the branches, or else your ground is covered with many branches, and cutting them into pieces is a years work 🤷🏻‍♀️

I couldn't resist.................
