    Rosemary

We just built a new coop for our bantam silkies. The coop is very close to a rosemary plant. I can't find anything online that says this is bad for chickens, but, being a mama I want to make sure that our babies are fine. Please advise!! We already pulled out the oleander tree by the coop...

    Bully

Will try the two weeks. Am not too excited about the chopping block. My 10 year old son is very attached to all of our hens. I guess just wait and see. Thank you for the advise!!! Happy eggs to you!

    Bully

We have 6 hens with 70 square feet. They have food all the time so they can graze. We have upped the protein as well. I understand pecking order. My bully used to be the shy timid one at the bottom. The pecked one was at the top. Right now, my bully is in a separate enclosure. We can't...

    Bully

    New chicken parents!

Thank you all for the words of wisdom!! We are getting ready to re-integrate her from solitary/hospital! I was told to leave her in there for a few hours at a time and gradually increase the time over a period of days. And also to watch for my bully......... Should be a long week!! ;)

    New chicken parents!

As you can see from my picture, it is just her bum. Down side is, we have to clean her two to three times a day because her waste will stick to her. I put the first application of blue coat on today. We noticed this yesterday.

    New chicken parents!

My family and I are so excited to have our hens. We got them in March! One SLW, two RIR, and three Easter Eggers. We also have two Silkie Bantums that belong to my son. We are having a lot of fun, or we were. Right now our SLW is separated. We believe that the others have pecked her. This...
