Dead chicks and a lone chick

So I had 3 chicks that I was keeping waiting to put in the run with the other but 2 does last night. We got a cold front and just couldn’t handle it I guess? They had a heat lamp and almost 12 weeks old. I setup a large brooder in the garage to keep the remaining one till she’s big enough. I...

    3 lonely birds

Walking around rural king and spotted 3 lone olive eggars. The last 3 birds all together. So I brought them home. I don’t know anything about them but green eggs sound cool.

    Chick update

All my baby chicks have made it so far. These are the first chickens I've ever raised. They were 2 and 4 weeks old on jul 4. One of the speckled Sussex might be a rooster but I can't tell.

Moved the chicks to the coop

So I moved the chicks out to the hen house. They are about 3 weeks old. It's been a steady 95+ degrees here in Tennessee and the garage has been far hotter than that with no supply of fresh air. I put the lamp in there to keep them warm at night, it's only been dropping to the high 70's. Hope...

    Cleaning chick vent

Thanks, I'll try that olive oil thing next time. She was not happy about getting that poo removed.

    Cleaning chick vent

A couple of my chicks had blocked vents. I used damp paper towel to try to wipe it off but it was far too hard so I had to cut off some of the fluff around her butt to free it. Is there a better way to do this? I'm worried a wrong move could injure and stress the chick, thanks in advance

    New chicks and coop

I have a couple small things to touch up and a few weeks before they move outside. The black and white ones are Cochins and the others are some type of pullets. I'm not really sure. They are only 1 week old.
