    Need Shade Ideas for Coop

I might regret this later but I might plant some arborvitae thuja emerald green inside along the west side so they have a little shade in the hot afternoon summer sun... I'll post pics when done 👍

Any suggestions on a new coop that won't take a bunch of space? I wasn't planning on giving up more garden space for now.

Thanks for the replies. Here is pic from further back... for now it's just enclosed on the right side half. As far as predators, I think we have raccoons as the biggest, other than hawks. I am putting stronger gauge wire fence around the bottom 4ft for now after seeing your comment aart. Thanks!

That being said, I do eat meat, so I can't act like animals aren't being slaughtered. I could get most of my protein going forward...

Thanks for the warm welcome and the tips on how to deal with my new family members. I talked to my neighbor and fortunately he's been feeding and letting them sleep under his deck arbor, but he's worried about them as well. He's going to help me build a coop but asked that I get rid of any...

    Hi from WA state!

Thanks, Valerie! That is why I asked. Although I am a carnivore, I imagine it would be tough to eat a bird that has provided love and eggs! Ugh! :-)
