    Thanks azelgin, I read that about burning them out as well. They are two years old now, so I figured I would see how it goes and then let them do what they want after summer :)

    I just have one of the red brooder/heat lamps. It's bright enough to read or see anything in there. Tonight is the first night so I was going to try to make their hours of light be about 14.

    Awesome pics guys! I just had 100% of my shipped marans eggs hatch, I'm so pleased! However out of 23 shipped eggs only 4 were fertile to begin with!

    I just had a 100% hatch with my incuview, with shipped marans eggs. Beginners luck? Whatever it is I'll take it! I had to trouble at all keeping the humidity up, but I do live on an island so the air here is pretty humid to start with :)

    I have a pip! Today is day 20. I haven't seen any rocking or heard any chirping, is this normal? I'm hoping not to have a zero percent hatch on my first try :/

    I candled mine last night and out of 23 shipped marans eggs only 4 were fertile and developing :( today is day 19 so we will see how it goes I guess.

    I'm on day 13 on my first go with my new incuview. I'll be sure to post the results. So far so good it seems, but it's hard to tell for sure as they are super dark eggs :)
