Enemies in the gate: An awful puppy

So my dad got a golden doodle puppy last April, so he's about ten months old now. As of yesterday, my flock of thirteen has slowly dwarfed into a flock of 4 because of him. We put up a fence, using garden posts and fencing, to let them range in our back yard. Today, the puppy, Biscuit, learned...

    Best chicken feeder and waterer????

Any waterer that looks likethis with a lid and cap I highly reccomend. The last one I had lasted me ten years. It takes getting used to,but I strongly prefer it over ones where you fill it up from the bottom. Absolutely hate it when they spill everywhere.

The age old question: who did it?

I appreciate it, I agreed with what you're saying, it makes sense, but the morning after I posted this I found that the corner of my fencing had fallen down, so I'm very certain it was the puppy now. He's killed seven of my chickens since April, and he typically eats only the head. Thanks for...

The age old question: who did it?

I appreciate it, while I have seen barred owls in my neighborhood, I just found a fallen section of fence where the puppy easily could have entered in- so I'm fairly certain it was him, but cameras aren't a bad idea for the future.

The age old question: who did it?

It's less of a run and more of a makeshift pasture-and after I posted this I went out the in the morning, and found a large part of the fence fallen down in the corner. So you're probably right, the puppy got in and made away with the hen. Sad to say

The age old question: who did it?

Here are the facts: One chicken, a year and a half years old, named kitty, found beheaded inside the hens' fenced off portion of the yard. Some feathers strewn about, neck feathers on the body were wet. My mom heard sqwuaking earlier in the day, but didn't check on it. Suspects: The family...

    Thin egg shells after enclosure

I have a backyard flock of 9 hens on half an acre of lawn, there's three three year olds and the rest are on their second year. Recently, I had to enclose their roaming space on the lawn to less than half of what they had. I try to let them out to roam the entirety of their former space every...
