Howdy! I thought we should all share our blog links, and answer these questions:
Why did you start your blog?
What is special about it that would make us want to read it?
How has your blog changed over the years?
Here's my blog story:

I started this...
"The best way to predict the future is to create it." Abraham Lincoln
I have lots of quotes on my blog, www.outofourmindsblog.blogspot.com, and I also happen to blog a lot about reading, books, great thoughts, photography, and of course, those wonderful creatures called chickens. Please stop...
Great review! My EE is fabulous success. Like yours, she seems to enjoy my company and sometimes follows me. Mine sometimes bites if she's cornered (she's a diva) but honestly, I think it's kinda cute when chickens bite because they're not inflicting as much harm as they think they are.
Who has read The Book of the Dun Cow? This is an amazing fantasy story with chickens as the main characters...a great plot (light vs. darkness, like Lord of the Rings), characters who change and grow and learn to depend on each other...violent in some parts, so younger kids might not want to go...
Barred Rock -- Opal
Silver-laced Wyandotte -- Guinevere
EE -- Pertelote
The last name comes from Wangerin's The Book of the Dun Cow...which is loosely based on the Chaucer story of Chauntecleer the rooster. :)
But we call her Perdy for short!
Has anyone read that book? It's a wonderful...

This is a picture of my young cockerel...I'm wondering what breed he is. He was sold as a Buff, but someone on BYC told me that he didn't look like one. He has gray legs and feet, and was a yellow chick. Thanks!
I wish I had learned about vitamin deficiencies in chicks!
Two of mine couldn't walk and had weak feet. We gave them vitamins and nutrients in the form of a vitamin-electrolyte supplement and later replaced that with Nutri-drench (also using vitamin B12).
But don't overdose vitamins, because...
The cockerel and the Wyandotte who also showed signs of deficiency were put into another box. We gave them first (in the water) the appropriate amounts of vitamins and electrolytes, comfrey tea, and vitamin B12, then we bought Nutri-drench and used the appropriate amounts of that (along with the...
Thank you for your advice!
The chick (which we now believe to be a cockerel) is doing well! It must have been a deficiency, since another also had the same symptoms.
Both can stand on their legs, and their feet look straight. They've been getting vitamins and nutrients in their water, and...
