Chicks are either too cold or too hot. Heat lamp needs to be low, preferably on a thermostat, I use a ceramic heat element instead of a bulb, with a reptile thermostat, and there needs to be enough room for the chicks to move away from the heat if they want to, start at 95 to 100 and lower five...
From the look of your setup, the heat lamp is way too far away. It needs to be down low directly over the chicks. Temperature on the floor under the heat lamp should be about 100 F.
I have two cuckoo Maran roosters. One needs to go. One is 4 years old and one is less than 2. Both are raised organically. Must pick up or will deliver to local area. Northern NJ. Email for more info.
Nice cuckoo Maran rooster. Raised organically. Pretty even tempered. One year old. Would make a nice protector for a small flock. Must pick up or meet locally.

FInd an old wagon frame and build on it. It can be moved anywhere you want and it needs no permit since it has wheels and not a foundation. Stick it in the front yard if you want!!

Your garden center may sell something called "Concern." It is diatomaceous earth used for insect control in organic gardens. You can find it on the internet. As was said above, there are different kinds of DE. Don't use the pool filter type. It is more dangerous to inhale. You should use a...
In my opinion, chicks never need medicated feed. If they are kept warm and dry and un-crowded, then they will be just fine. I have always used organic feeds, and have even just ground up organic corn, barley, and wheat I get locally for starter food. Let them free range to eat grubs and such as...
