    How many chicks does EcoGlow brooder really fit?

    I have the 600 with 2 3-week EEs plus a 1.5 week Faverolle and a 1.5 week Ameracauna. They all fit for now. In another 2 weeks it will be wall to wall chicks. Hopefully the “bigs” will migrate out. Sometimes they get half under half out during the day or sit on a low perch in the brooder...

    I was worried about shipping chicks, too, so I called Meyer today. The nice gentleman said that ordering fewer was actually safer for the chicks. Apparently in larger numbers ”trampling“ is the leading cause of loss. He assured me that my 3 would have a heat pack and be just fine. Poor guy...

    My girls are all grown up and finally laying! Aesa, BR was first @ 21 weeks, then Saga @ almost 22 weeks, then Sigge & Brynja one month later @ 22 1/2 weeks! Oddly, that was their previously established rank in the pecking order, too. Coincidence? Hmmm.
