I agree they are sweet birds. Mine layed well in her youth. I only have one left of three originals from Ideal 7 years ago. 'Rusty' Talks a lot and does kinda like being picked up. She was a very broody bird, if you value that. I'll be getting more of this breed :)- Tree10

My Dark Brahmas from Ideal hatchery are the friendliest, most gentle hens I've ever had. A couple of them come up regularly for 'petting'. A truly special breed/line.- Tree10

I have 4 7 year-old hens. VERY hardy breed, can be broody, very sociable with people, gentle with other hens. One of my favorite breeds.- Tree10
