I have a BO roo down here in Charleston. He is 2 months old and runs to greet me when I come home from work. I know that I can't keep him in my subdivision because the neighbours will protest.
Does anyone on the board want him??
I put up a flyer at TSC but haven't heard anything for 3...
Thanks.
I had to jam them into the coop because they didn't want to go in. I gave them their food and water and they fought over one corner of the 2 perches. Calmed down and no peeps until the morning.
definitely check the ordinances before you take any tree down.
Also check with a small sawmill. They can sometimes accommodate 1-2 trees.
I supply wood to a cabinet maker and some wood-turners. I work in an urban area, so recycling the wood is important rather than just cutting it into...
I have 2 BOs and 2 RIRs that are now 5 1/2 weeks old. They are in the brooder (garage) at night and pt them out in their cop/run during the day. When I am home, I let them roam the yard.
The problem is at dusk. They come to the back door, making a fuss to go back to their brooder. If i put...
Well today, one of my BOs caught a snake in the yard. Just an 8" juvenile Corn Snake. She ran around for a while till a RIR took it away from her. She killed it by violently shaking her head.
My cats are usually the snake wranglers but everyday these hens surprise me.
I have my coop / run set up in the yard and have run the hardware cloth ~18" beyond the wall and buried. The 4 1/2 week olds only go out during the day, while I am home. They have access to the coop and run for water and security. So their scent is all over the place.
I have noticed that...
I live in Charleston. As confirmed in another thread, I have 1 BO Roo. Does anyone want him??? I can't keep him, neighbour's warnings.
I don't want to do a midnight rooster drop-off at a farm in Ravenel...........
Here are some pics. Wondering if some experts here can determine the gender of one of my BOs, they will be 4 weeks old on sunday.
The one in the middle.
I am very interested in the reaction of my cats and hens. I have been taking the chicks outside to their run for 3 weeks; a couple of hours each day. The oldest cat, 15.5 yrs, just looks at them and goes about his business. The female, 2.5 yrs, lays next to the run staring at the chicks (cat...
I wasn't very accurate withe the temperature requirements. I have them in a large brooder (2 boxes duct taped together). The red heat lamp was situated close for the 1st week. I just checked on them often. If they weren't huddled together under the lamp directly, I figured that they were ok...
I use the water from my fish also. Once a month I siphon 1/3 of the tank, making sure that I stir the gravel. I then use this for my indoor plants and any remaining for the veggies.
