Hello, I'm in Sammamish and have a 50# bag of organic cracked corn from Issaquah Grange Supply (They don't sell organic in smaller quantities). I only have four chickens so i'll never go through it all as I only use it as scratch. Does anyone want to split the cost of the bag with me?

Hello,
For the last month, one of my Delawares always lays eggs with a cross-shaped seam on the pointy end. She is a year old and never did it before this. Any ideas? Is it an early indication of infection? She seems perfectly healthy.
Thank you for the help.
Thanks. That is comforting. It does seem odd thought that she used to roost and now, when it's getting colder, she doesn't want to be on the roost with the other three. She seems fine though.
Hello. I have 4 chickens, 9 months old. They are vivacious and noisy and appear for all the world to be healthy. One hen clearly stood out as the mother hen from an early age and she remains so. Oddly though, she seems to have stopped roosting at night. She used to roost. All the others...
PS. They are not closing down their site just because of my wife's letter. They were apparently going out of business already. Just thought I should clarify that.

You can have a look at my coop page. I used rolls of r-13 pink fiberglass batts which is the cheapest option. You can just use 1/4 plywood which is inexpensive or even OSB which is really cheap at about $11 for a 4x8 sheet at Home Depot. If you were planning to put a light in your coop...
Just an update regarding my stolen design. My wife, being a lawyer, did a little digging and wrote a nastygram to them. She received a quick response and they removed my images. They also said they get the images from potential customers who want them built. obviously that is a halftruth...
King Coops just put my coop up as "their" "Cluck-a-doodle-doo" coop. While imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, plagiarizing another person's work is not ok. Sadly, if they are trolling the BYC site for cool designs that members put up for the benefit of other BYCers I don't know that...
Typically, my 4 hens all get up on the roost by the time I go and lock them up which is usually an hour or so after dark. But tonight, and on one other occasion I have gone out to find that one didn't make it to the perch and is sitting on the floor of the coop. Is this a problem? I try to...
In my experience, absolutely. I have 2 Delawares and 2 Barred Rocks. They are so loud in the morning that they wake me up through closed windows even though the coop is 75 feet away. Egg song is loud regardless of breed from what I can gather but mine just start up this awful...
