Typically, my 4 hens all get up on the roost by the time I go and lock them up which is usually an hour or so after dark. But tonight, and on one other occasion I have gone out to find that one didn't make it to the perch and is sitting on the floor of the coop. Is this a problem? I try to put her up on the roost but she doesn't want to grab onto it. She just makes irritated sounds and walks away.
Thanks

I don't worry about it when it's just a once in awhile thing and with mine it's usually the young roos anyhow. I swear they're just like little boys, always wanting to stay up late in case they miss something.

I would worry if it is always the same hen and becomes a habit. If that is the case a couple of things could be going on from something simple like needing a bit more roost space to prevent night time squables to bumblefoot making it uncomfortable to roost and needing some medical intervention.

Give it a good look over to make certain nothing is wrong with it.

That's an uncommon thing, so look in to it.
