    Cochins are supposedly dosile breeds, when i first got my 3 hens they were 7 weeks and my two red sex links bullied my cochins and barely let her eat. now my cochins took a rooster leader role.of the flock amd beats on the two reds. i thinks it has to do with pecking order.

    i wish i could find a rooster that doesnt crow. When i was a boy my uncle was a show breeder and every summer he woukd give me two rooster chicks. would love to own rooster but i cant have any where i live :-(

    Runny Pooh

    I have the same issue. i noticed its runny before they lay and solid after. makes sense to me but that could also be coincidence. Mine are free range, or free yard birds lol so they eat a large variety of things from the scratch main feed grass ants kids lunch lol.

    Mrs. Fluff in recovery. Deep bite marks and back was completely defeathered but she alert and drinking and cozy in the garage. Since i dont really live in a farm area i dont want a neighbor to complain and hate us haha. That and crowing at four am can annoy a chicken hater lol.

    This is my girl. Large and in charge, she actually got attacked by a husky mix today... Shes doing ok though she stood her ground and shell recover. amnd my two reds, they look really weathered cuz my white cochins defeathers them pretty bad lol. but really freindly and talkative.

    Something similar just happened to my big hen but she was biten by a husky mix. 2 deep bite wounds and her back was defeathered. lucky for her she played dead, the dog kept going for her each time she moved. I did the same cut feathers cleaned her up and put her in a snug box with a loose wrap...
