    I think that the trough is just to divert any excess water The water does not flow from the nipples. It just forms dew drops so they can drink directly from the nipples.

    Hi, I am new to this forum. I recently aquired an antique chicken waterer. This is really cool. It has a reservoir with a float valve to keep the water filled at all times. Has anyone here in this forum seen one of these before?
