I live in Texas- we don't have seasons. We have summer and February. LOL! We definitely have snapping turtles- I just don't have any on my pond. They would be quickly eradicated as my kids swim in our pond. I love my geese but I'm definitely not taking any chances with my two legged kiddos...
No- we have a six acre pond. They are safer out there than in a pen around here. The momma goose and two others adopted us and our pond and I bought the babies to keep her company. I'd be more terrified that something would figure out how to hack a pen and then they would have no way to...
I tried her and she freaked out being away from the other babies. Now I'm afraid they are all going to camp out by the babies instead of going out on the pond where they are safer.

My geese are now 8 weeks and a few days old... They are allowed to free forage. They still come up begging for pellets like puppy dogs- they get some pellets in the morning and evening. My question is how much should they be getting now at this age? It seems like they are always begging so I...
I read all the time about guineas chasing off a fox and killing a mink. Will they really do that? Would they deter a raccoon or just become raccoon food? I'm looking for something to help me protect my geese or at least alert me so I can go shoot the coon.
My friend is giving me some guinea eggs that were fertilized by a rooster- should I incubate them like chicken eggs or guinea eggs? We are experimenting to see if we can get any to hatch.
I would like to get some muscovy ducks to help with pest control and weed control on my pond. Question is how much of a dent are they going to put on my fish? I don't want to not have any fish left.
