Turkeys flew the coop - Help
When I was raising Turkeys I had trouble getting them to go around a forage, they had a lot or area to do that but they stayed within a very short distance. Be careful leaving food out though, I did that a few times when the turkeys wanted to roost and started attracting racoons. -

Hens that are about to start layin fertile eggs.
I suppose its depends in that I think if you incubate them she will keep laying so you can keep getting eggs for more poults, or let her do it her self and she will lay a good clutch and no more, but theres a beauty in letting a hen raise them. Are they real eastern wild turkeys? Im curious... -

Im sorry that happened sometimes you can get really attached. I let mine free roam all the time but the stay extremely close, just a bit to close so I dont worry to much. DO you think he could have joined a wild turkey pack passing by or something?
